This
museum, which has still not been inaugurated, is located in the
Government House built in French academic style. The visit starts
off in the gallery containing the busts of the local governors and
a monument to Juan Bautista Alberdi. Six offices turned into exhibition
halls offers insight into the intellectual and cultural movement
of the Centennial Generation. The government room that dates from
last century was designed by the artist Lola Mora. Also by this
artist is a charcoal drawing of the 24 governors which she donated
to the Ejecutive Power. There will also be a hall devoted to numismatics
exhibiting all the issues made in the province.
San
Miguel de Tucumán
The city of San Miguel de Tucumán, capital of the province, is located
1,303km. away from the Capital City, on national route No. 9, and
447m. above sea level. It is the most important industrial and commercial
city in the Argentine Northwest, and has several touristic attractions
in the surroundings, such as Villa Nogués, cerro San Javier and
El Cadillal dam.
