The
city of San Miguel de Tucumán, capital of the province, is
located 1,303km. away from the Capital City, on national route
No. 9, and 447m. above sea level.
It is the most important industrial and commercial city in
the Argentine Northwest, and has several touristic attractions
in the surroundings, such as Villa Nogués, cerro San Javier
and El Cadillal dam.
Here
is the House of National Independence, that is the most venerable
historic monument for the Argentine people, since it was here
that National Independence was declared on July 9, 1816.
